Alexander Soccer Club - Fall Youth Teams 2010

This fall we are working to offer a new program for players in 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grades (for boys and/or girls).  We will be offering teams for both age groups (in boys or girls divisions depending on which teams fill) FREE OF CHARGE to any Alexander Central School player that will practice 2 or 3 days a week and play in a league which has games that take place in Geneseo on the weekend (normally Saturday morning/afternoon).

This is the first year we are offering this program and we are hoping to get kids involved in a "school" soccer team earlier than modified.  This is not a school sponsored team but will be treated like one.  We hope to have practices after school 2 or 3 days a week on the field behind the elementary school and then one game on the weekend for each team (the practice time will depend on finding a coach that would be available to have the practice after school).  If we cannot find coaches that can run practices immediately after school we will have them at a reasonable time 2 nights a week.  We are offering this program free of charge through the use of fundraisers that we do throughout the year (players will be asked to participate in our fall fundraiser(s) while they play.

In addition to practices and games players on these teams will have the opportunity to be ball people at our home games and we will also have small games at halftime of some or our home games for them to play in.  We are hoping to increase the interest in soccer at the school for players at an even younger age while not putting an increased financial burden on the parents in the district.

If you are interested in playing please fill out the above registration form and send it to Alexander Soccer Club - PO Box 222, Alexander, NY 14005.  There is no formal registration deadline but we would prefer to have forms in by July 15th so we are able to get all the plans underway for the fall before it is too late (in addition to securing coaches).  If you are interested in coaching please get in touch with me, at the minimum you will be compensated for your gas to drive to the games on the weekend and we are hoping to offer a small stipend to the coaches of the teams, but that will depend on the clubs balance after the fall bills are paid.

Please spread the word, mailers went out in the mail to all district residents during the last week of May but that does not always reach everyone.  We need approximately 14 players on the 5th/6th grade teams and 12 on the 3rd/4th grade teams to have enough players to fill the team.
