The JV team started off the day with a 2-1 win over Sodus, followed by a 1-0 win over Gananda, and finishing with a 1-0 loss to Pal-Mac.  Alexander got goals from Julia, Abby, and Kaleigh during the first three games and Hannah picked up 2 wins and a shutout.  Alexander played tough in the playoffs but gave up a late goal on a very nice looking play from Newark to bow out in the semis.  Newark went on to win the title in OT over Williamson.  Alexander played solid soccer throughout the day in a tournament that was very physical.  Alexander had some great passing and solid defending throughout the day.

The Varsity team started off with a tough 1-0 loss to Pal-Mac, then tied Lyons 0-0, and got the 1-0 win against Gananda in the final game that they needed to get into the playoffs.  In the playoffs Alexander faced off against Newark and had 3 chances during the game to go up 1-0 but Newarks goalie was playing great in net and came up with 3 diving saves to keep Alexander off the board.  The game would go to Golden Goal OT and Alexander would fall 1-0 as a goal would find its way into the net midway through the 5 minute OT.  It was a solid performance by Alexander as they struggled to find the net all day long, but still came away with a good day of soccer.

Thanks to Chelsey for coming out to play with the varsity team and to all the other players - it was a very nice weekend of soccer despite the lack of scoring by us :-)
