U17 and up Session 1 Game Summaries

Alexander 1 Attica 0

Alexander picked up a forfeit win over Attica as they only had 4 players.  We split our players up and scrimmaged each other for the game.  Court and Chelsea scored goals in the game and Rachel had 7 saves.  It was quite entertaining to watch some of the Alexander girls "mark" each other in the scrimmage.  Thanks to the Iroquois girls and the GCC girls for playing this session.  We finished in 2nd place behind only Depew who was undefeated.  Great job girls.

Alexander 3 Lancaster 2

Alexander had to come back from a 2-0 hole to win this game 3-2.  Chelsea make the score 2-1 early in the 2nd half and Court tied it at 2 when her pressure forced an own goal by Lancaster.  Chelsea put Alexander up 3-2 when she blasted another goal in from in close.  Alexander's defense held up as substitute goalie Rachel made 5 saves in net to pick up the win.  Alexander moved the ball better in the 2nd half and it helped them come from behind.  Nice job girls.

Alexander 4 Wildcats 1

Alexander had a solid performance against the Wildcats and came away with a 4-1 win.  Court put two goals in the back of the net, Anna had one, and Maranda had one as well.  Maranda picked up an assist as well.  The defense was strong as Hannah made just 3 saves in net, and had an interesting play which resulted in the games only goal for the Wildcats.  A bit short on subs the girls worked hard throughout the game and it was a well earned victory that moved the teams record to 4-2 as they remain in 2nd place in the session.  Nice work girls.

Alexander 2 Attica 0

Alexander had a very solid performance against Attica Saturday and came away with a 2-0 win.  Alexander's passing was great and the defense was solid in the back throughout the game.  Chelsea scored a goal early in the game and Hannah made several brilliant saves to keep Attica off the board.  Autumn converted a Chelsea corner kick midway through the 2nd half on a great back post volley to put the 2nd goal on the board.  The defense and midfield did a great job from there holding Attica to only a handful of shots in the 2nd half.  Great job to everyone.

Depew 5 Alexander 1

Alexander had another not so great performance against Depew and fell 5-1.  Alexander fell behind 2-0 early on and never managed to catch up.  Britney put a ball in the net late in the game to crack Depew's shutout but other than that Alexander didn't get much going offensively.  Hannah made 10 saves in net including a couple great diving stops.

Depew 3 Alexander 0

Alexander got off to an awful start in the game and found themselves down 3-0 before the game was 15 minutes old on 3 great shots from Depew.  Alexander settled down from there and played much better, but was unable to solve a very good Depew goalie.  After they settled down, especially in the 2nd half, Alexander created quite a few scoring chances in the 2nd half with Anna, Court, Britney, Chelsea, and Amber all having great looks at the net in the 2nd half.  Hannah had a couple great saves in the 2nd half as well including a great diving stop midway through on a shot that looked like it was headed in the far corner of the net.  Gabby did a solid job shutting down Depew's top scorer in the 2nd half as well.  Rematch next week and we will look to bounce back.

Alexander 3 Lancaster 0

Alexander finished off a great day posting a 3-0 win over Lancaster to pick up their 3rd shutout win of the day outscoring their opponents 13-0 combined in all 3 games.  Hannah was a bit busier this game needing to make 9 saves, but none were incredibly difficult in her 3rd shutout of the game.  Chelsea, Rachel, and Court all had single goals as Alexander controlled play throughout the majority of the game.  Court, Anna, and Amber were attacking throughout the game up top and created some great chances on net.  The midfield had great possession throughout the game.  Nice job girls, great start to the first indoor session.

Alexander 7 Cyclones 0

Alexander played some great soccer in the first game of the session picking up a 6-0 win.  Alexander got 4 goals from Anna, 2 from Chelsea, and 1 from Court in the 7-0 win.  Alexander had the ball moving around the field throughout the game and dominated possession.  Hannah made 6 saves to post the shutout in goal.  Crista, Ally, Gabby, and Summer did a great job in the back keeping the Cyclones from getting any passing going and very few shots off, most from a distance that were easily stopped by Hannah.  Great job girls.
