U12/15 Shootout Tournament Summary

The U12 and some of the U15 team combined their efforts in the Alexander shootout tournament.  They faced some stiff competition in Rush Henrietta and Orchard Park the first two games and came away on the wrong end of a combined 10-0 score but that didn't indicate how well they had played.  Alexander was working on their passing and first touch and despite the lop sided scores had several good shots on net in both games.  Court H and Alyssa lead the way for the forwards putting some nice runs and passes together to attack the net in both games.  Maranda, Court A, and Sid did solid work in the back marking and attempting to keep the teams away from the goal.  But with the small fields it seemed as there was always someone open on the back post or there to clean up the rebound.  Leslie made some fantastic saves in net and had huge throws down the field to get the offense started.  Laura, Kristi, Savannah, Claire, Tess, Ashley, Kylie, Amber, and Frankie all chipped in with some hard work and solid passing with the forwards

Alexander came into the last game facing off against Attica who had also lost both of their first two games.  Alexander came out strong with Laura, Kristi, Alyssa, Sidney, and Court H working the ball around the midfield and forwards trying to get a ball into Attica's net.  In the back Maranda and Court A did some nice marking and limited Attica's shots.  When the shots were taken Leslie was there to grab them and fire the ball downfield with her big throws.  Leslie came up with two huge stops on breakaways to keep the game at 0-0.  With less than 7 minutes left in the game Sidney saved a ball on the endline, beat a defender, and tucked a ball in the short side to make it 1-0.  From there the lead held up and Alexander had the 1-0 win.  Frankie, Amber, Tess, Ashley, Savannah, Claire, and Kylie all helped out in the win with solid passing and good marking.  Nice job girls, you played well throughout the day and didn't quit which shows in winning the last game.
