RDYSL U15 Girls 2010 Game Summaries

Alexander 0 Spencerport 0

Alexander got off to a solid start to the season picking up a 0-0 tie with Spencerport who was the only team to beat Alexander last year when they had their full team.  Both teams had good chances to score with Alexander hitting 2 bars with shots and Jess making 2 great saves to keep Spencerport off the board.  Solid start to the season girls.

Alexander 1 Pittsford 1

Alexander had only 2 subs for their 2nd game but battled tough and managed to pull out a 1-1 tie against Pittsford.  Alexander went down 1-0 after a flury of shots resulted in a goal for Pittsford.  Late in the game Alexander got a goal on a direct kick from Sarah to pull even and that was how the game ended.  Good job girls.

Gates 3 Alexander 0

Alexander ran into the top team in the division and was on the wrong side of a 3-0 score.  Alexander struggled in the 1st half and went behind 3-0 but held Gates off the board in the

2nd half thanks to some solid defense and good goaltending.  Alexander will hope to have a better showing against Gates the 2nd time around.

Livonia 5 Alexander 1

Alexander had a tough time with a very good Livonia team under the lights.  Alexander had a couple bad breakdowns in the first half and fell behind 2-0.  Livonia moved the ball very well and scored two more in the 2nd half to get ahead 4-0.  Alexander kept working hard and earned a goal back as Sydney beat the keeper on an assist from Sarah.  Livonia would get a late one to make it 5-1.  Livonia is one of the top teams in the division and we had stretches where we moved the ball well and had control we just couldn't get the ball into the net.  Nice work girls.

Alexander 5 Cobras 1

Alexander had a very good performance in beating the Cobras 5-1.  Lydia and Becca each had 2 goals while Maria had 1.  The defense played well and Syd/Burg/Eliza did a good job filling in for goalie duties.  The passing was crisp and the finishing was solid.  Nice job girls.

WSA 7 Alexander 1

Alexander played a great game for the first 60 minutes and was tied 1-1.  Unfortunately WSA broke it open in the final 20 minutes pouring in 6 unanswered goals with great passing and movement off the ball.  Alexander struggled to mark in the center of the field and it resulted in several breakaways and a handful of goals.  Alexander has a tough stretch to the close the season playing 4 of the top teams in the division to close out the season, all at home.

Greece 1 Alexander 0

Alexander suffered a tough loss as Greece scored in the final minute to pull out a 1-0 win where Alexander had the better of the play for most of the game.  Alexander moved the ball well but couldn't find the net and it cost them in the end.
