Alexander had their best day of soccer of the indoor
tournament season at Medina. Alexander opened with a 2-1 win over
Batavia Blue then followed that up with a 3-1 win over Holley.
Alexander would fall 2-1 to Albion and then tie Pavilion 1-1 and go into
the no-goalie tiebreaker and eventually fall in the 5th minute when it
was 2v2 with no goalie. Alexander then fell 6-3 against Batavia
white in the last game of the day which featured a very tired team (that
played all day with only 1 sub).
The most entertaining part of the day was definitely the no goalie OT versus Pavilion. Alexander had two chances to win it in the first minute but couldn't hit the an open net from 6 feet away. Gabby had a head ball saved when she was "goalie" and also had a couple other good kick saves. Pavilion managed to hit a post and finally put the ball in the net. It was an excellent day which saw Alexander play very good defense, move the ball extremely well, complete well over half of their passes into good positions, shoot the ball, and communicate much better than in weeks past. Chrissy had her 2nd straight good showing in goal. Nice job girls. |
