The first game Alexander faced off against Fairport.  Fairport was more aggressive during the beginning of the game and won all the headballs in the center of the field.  Alexander had some good passing but failed to put much pressure on the goal managing only two shots in the game.  Sid lead the defense in the back in limiting Fairport to only 10 shots, with Hannah stopping 9.  Fairport got a nice through ball from midfield and the striker shot the ball in from a terrible angle to make the score 1-0.  Alexander was unable to tie it up and lost the first game 1-0.  1st star in the game went to Sid who was solid in the back and had some excellent one on one defending.  2nd star went to Tessa who did a nice job in the center of the field and had some great defensive help.  3rd star went to Hannah who had a very good game in net stopping nearly everything that they fired at her.

Alexander played Amherst in game number two and came out with a much better game.  Unfortunately Amherst would capitalize on all 3 of Alexander's mistakes and take the game 3-1.  Alexander dominated possession with some great passing and excellent dribbling runs up top by Amber, Julia, and Megan.  Amherst's first goal deflected in off the head of an Alexander player.  Amherst would get a 2nd goal off a goal kick that didn't get up and was blasted right into the top corner of the net to make it 2-0.  Alexander would get a goal back as Sid took the ball up the middle of the field and slid a shot past the keeper to make it 2-1.  Alexander had 2 other great scoring chances that just missed and the game remained 2-1.  Amherst would put the game away off a mishit punt to make the game 3-1.  1st star in the game went to Summer who was very strong on the outside of the defense and didn't allow anything down her side.  2nd star went to Autumn who played well at attacking midfield, had some nice dribbling and some good passing.  3rd star went to Amber who had a solid game up top, nice dribbling and hit a couple great shots.

Alexander had their final game against Clarence in the morning frost on Sunday.  Alexander came out hard and immediately got the ball down the field.  Alexander spent long portions of time in the Clarence end during the 1st half but was unable to get a goal into the net.  Clarence would get a goal immediately after an Alexander corner kick.  The initial shot was saved by Hannah but the striker chipped the rebound in over her head to make it 1-0.  Clarence got their 2nd goal on a great shot from must outside the 18 to make it 2-0.  Alexander started to wear down at the end, but still had a couple great chances to score as time wore down but was unable to put on into the net and fell 2-0.  1st star in the game went to Savannah who played a great game at defense (1st half on the outside, 2nd half at stopper).  2nd star went to Claire who returned to the lineup after a day off and played great on the outside of the field.  3rd star went to Lauren who had a solid day in the back (1st half at stopper, 2nd half on the outside).

Despite not picking up a win the girls came away with a solid weekend of soccer.  The girls performed well in all 3 games and improved throughout the weekend.  They will continue to work and will come back even stronger in their next game.
